Are we even voting anymore? it looks like no one rounded up the remake edition. And now we're onto a new weekend.

You guys are totally free to do whatever you want, I'm not the dictator of Joedios. Though personally I'm displeased with how the voting goes for a few reasons.
First, I was really disappointed with the turn out on the remake theme. I think only three or four people participated and that kind of hurts. I didn't bother rounding them up because of that, and the fact that I'm rather pissed with this entire website as of late.
Why did no one do any remakes? Do you guys not appreciate anyone's work? I was expecting a ton of remakes of Outrider's stuff, but not a single shot besides my own. Maybe the themes I chose are no good, but the lack of remakes coupled with the fact that a lot of members don't like to comment anymore makes me feel as though some of you are really self consumed.
Also, there's only been three to five shots for the past two weekends, Rescue Missions and Mortal Enemies. Is that because we quit the voting? If that's the case then there's a really bad attitude passing around here, of people who just want to compete opposed to those who are inspired by the great work of our fellow photographers.
And my last problem, more people chose to compete rather than vote! I guess some of you were afraid that voting for someone else would hurt your chances of winning nothing? Really, going through many of the weekends with high turnouts, there was usually half or less who voted than different people who posted shots. This might have been more worth it for everyone involved if more folks voted.
Personally, I'm done with voting. Weekend Warriors should just be a theme for every weekend instead of a competition, like it used to be. I want to say as well that I'm not trying to be a jerk, but as long as some of you keep the competitive attitude, before long this place won't be fun for anyone, and I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment. This isn't at anyone in particular, I just want more people to see that it's really more fun if everything's not some kind of competition.
And I hope that you Reverend Blood, or TOD aren't offended by what I've said since I didn't mean it at you two. But I've found that keeping to myself and never saying what I think doesn't help much.

I'm not offended. I just asked a question. I'm gonna take pictures of the theme, whether it gets voted on or not. I like the idea of having inspiration come from somewhere other than my own ADD train of thought that just gets distracted and starts playing with my toys when I try to take pictures.
But, I also just signed up around January (Maybe December) So I don't really know how things were or should be. I enjoy looking at other people's work, and show casing my own.
On a total side note, I actually had a shot lined up for remakes, and was going to use one of Outrider's shots, but since I'm new here, and didn't have the pleasure of knowing him, I didn't want to be "that guy" and come off as almost disrespectful.
But don't let everything get to you man, keep enjoying the hobby and sharing with those of us that enjoy it too.

And thank you for popping the question! I'd been meaning to say all that but just never felt like I needed to.
Also, you should totally post that Outrider remake anyway! I'd love to see what you had cooked up, you should post it!
Thanks for being a cool guy RB.

The themes have been great! I've been really challenged to come up with shots. I was short of time for a "Remake" (...a set...), and I totally expected a billion shots of Storm Shadow versus Snake Eyes for the "Mortal Enemies" theme, so I gave up. Thought of a scene this morning, though, so maybe I'll go ahead and take the shot. Shoot, I even had an idea for the "Rescue" weekend, then poof, it was the following week already! I just need to plan better.
