The writers had planned on SE having a line at the end of the movie, but Larry Hama had made it inarguably clear that SE DOES NOT TALK, so his line was removed. Keep in mind that SE's silence was part oath and part injuries (as told in the Marvel comics). Larry hama was used as a conultant for the movie, and he was adamnant about SE's silence.

So, to answer your question, no, SE does not talk in the movie.

I know adult SE doesn't talk in the movie, aside from that grunt after beating SS. I was asking about flash back young SE in the Arashikage compound.

I don't recall any mention of an oath of silence in the Marvel comics. All I knew about was the injury from the helicopter crash that also messed up his face. I think an oath of silence for any military operator is idiocy, and I winced when I heard it mentioned in the movie.

Oath of silence

The only time I heard Snake Eyes speak when he was at Scarlett's bedside. He said," SCAR-LET". She was in a coma from taking a point blank shot in the head from the Baroness. This was I think in the early 100s of the Marvel series.

No, young SE doesn't talk in the movie... but he does make alot of 'hi-yaa's when fighting.

agreed. SE in the comics is due to injury not a Oath. But he did word Scarletts name once or twice in the comics. They also showed a weird mumble that looked like his mouth piece of him saying something early on.

You may be correct about the oath or lack thereof. I was unable to reead the entire Marvel run, so I may have missed it. I do know that in the movie, neither young nor old SE talked (other than the "Keis" in a fight scene). I think after Mr. Hama made the comment that he does not speak, the writers went with the spirit of the comics. It would be the same as the "Shadowed Snake Eyes" seen in the SE origin story. They wanted to keep the mystery of him alive.

Snake Eyes says 'Master' twice when he discovers the Hard Master skewered in the temple and Storm Shadow is (presumably) running away.
